Stamp A Holics 125-Inspiration Challenge

Hola Amigas! How are you? What a BEAUTIFUL week? I have been SUPER busy...I am STILL working on my sister's wedding invitations and POTTY TRAINING Joaquin...WHEW! Solimar was FULLY trained at 18 months...Joaquin NOT SO MUCH! But he is getting it...Today's challenge is brought to us by Nancy Dawson. She gave us an inspiration challenge.
Solimar's room has the same colors...Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise and she has a mixture of purples...So I choose to work with Certainly Celery (a card is not a card without some GREEN), Pixie Pink and Orchid Oppulence.
And there is Señor Asqueroso...Not to HAPPY because I out stickers over his mouth. He was being NASTY. He said I wasn't going to win because I was too undecisive...and although that is VERY TRUE he needs to be more supportive. SI?
Well I saw the flowers on the wall and thought HMMM maybe the scallop circles may work...Only a SHORT amount of time will tell. Does it work....Does it not work...Not sure I am feeling this sketch...
Maybe three instead of four...
How about some pretty flower brads...AYE NO...It's not working...Do you hear Mr. I told you so in the background...
Okay...let's changing it up and add layers...and let me look for a stamp set...Dios, mio...the time is going TOO FAST.
I love our new clear mount Stamp option. It's the same GREAT quality you've grown to LOVE. But the storing option is now thinner...To me that is important because I had my own stamp room but I had to give it to Joaquin otherwise he would be sleeping in the hallway...I didn't mind this option but well my hubby didn't...So now how to make the flowers PRETTY!
I choose to use my watercolor pencils...and even though it seems I have 1 minute and 36 seconds left...well I didn't make it I had to go back for shading and then the card was too FLAT so I had to take it apart and distess it a little...and her you go...

Go, Graduate!

Hola Amigas...How are you today? Me I am SUPER tired and sick...YUP! I have strep and a double ear infection...Does that stop me...Absolutely not...I seriously can't remember when I was sick last...Besides my migraines...NADA! This is Solimar's graudation invite...CUTE, huh? I love it...Well I put out a call to all my demo sisters and let me tell you there was SO MANY emails. I LOVE everything about SU but one of the perks is how HELPFUL our sisters are to one another...To all my beautiful HERMANAS/SISTERS...GRACIAS!

Stamp A Holics 124-Cottage Wall

Hola Amigas...Today's sketch comes from DT Cynthia...I hope you will play along with the Stamp A Holics...I have a new timer his name is Señor Asqueroso (Mr. Nasty-TY Carole'Anne and Sage). Okay so let's begin...
I want to use Cottage Wall..It's beautiful DSP...The coordinating colors are Old Olive, Orchid Oppulence (soon to be retired) and Rich Razzleberry. Here is my Ceative Chaos...
I am going to start by deciding which color will be my base either Old Olive or Rich Razzleberry and then I am going to use my Big Shot to die cut the Top Note die and the Scallop Oval Frame.
Already time is moving to fast...Do you see Señor Asqueroso's tatoo...He had his woman's name tattooed across his forhead...Que LOCO! He will probably have a new squeeze next week.I am not liking the Scallop Oval Frame for this particular project...So out it goes... I do like the Top Note but not on top of the Old Olive and its going to have to have a layer of some sort on it...
I think I am going with Rich Razzleberry base and Orchid Oppulence DSP for second layer and then I die cut an Old Olive Top Note. The Yo Yo Yellow is haunting me...It's for Solimar's graduation invites but I haven't finished yet...
Okay now for the accents to my card...I knew when I saw the sketch I wanted to make the scallop circle flower I made in a past post...The only thing is that I dont have that much time and well it takes to long...but I am going to do it anyway...
Okay like I said it took to long and the Señor Asqueroso is LOL and ROFL..He is so NASTY. So I opted for my second flower to still use the scallop circle punch but to do the flowers that you punch out 6-10 and scrunch them...
and I went over 19 minutes...Ay Dios Mio...But I blame it on the 3D flowers...technically when we have a 3D challenge we have 30 minutes so technically I made it with seconds to spare...Do you think this argument will hold up in a Court of Justice? Yeah, me neither...I tried...

Paper: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Set: Kind & Caring Thoughts
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Scallop Circle Punch, Rhinestone Brads, Build a Brad

Go, Graduate

Hola Amigas...How are you? Well I can't believe that in a few short weeks Solimar will be graduating Pre-K. I offered to make the invitations for her graduating class because...well for such a SPECIAL event I did not want to be invited from a flyer...This is one of the samples I should the teachers and this is the one they choose. I will be showing you this invite again but using their theme colors which are Glorious Green, Real Red, Brilliant Blue and Yo Yo Yellow. I had them choose just to colors and they choose Brilliant Blue and Yo Yo Yellow...I will be incorporating Real Red in the Grad cap...

Stamp A Holics Color Challenge 123

Hola Amigas...How are you? Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day and today is said to be no different! We are all doing well or I should say better in the Gutierrez Familia. WHEW! I am sorry I haven't posted as often as I do but the wedding has be SUPER BUSY! But starting TODAY no matter what I will share with all of you! Well you know what today is...Stamp A Holic Challenge. Today we are honored by DT Lesley. She has given us a Color Challenge and here it is...Okay so my first thought is ICE CREAM! What about you? What was your first thought?
Here I decided to emboss the chocolate chip with Square Lattice (Summer Mini 2010). Then I tied pretty in pink ribbon to the left side or is it the right side? We will see.

Although my first thought was of ice cream...I failed to purchase Sweet Scoops (Summer Mini 2010) so I went with Crazy for Cupcakes.
Now the question is which side to put my image...Right Side?
Left Side?
Or a different layout? And this is what I ended up with. Sorry no timer this week but I can HONESTLY say I went OVER! Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. Make sure you play along.

Stampa A Holics 3D Challenge

Hola Amigas. Today The StampA Holics DT have a 3D Challenge. That means we get 30 minutes from start to finish. Now don't let me fool you this is in NO WAY means it's enough time but let's find out! On your Mark, Get Set, GO!
I am in a round of Secret Siblings on SCS. My secret sister Emily (not her real name) sennet me this SUPER CUTE wallet for my birthday along with a SUPER CUTE purse (will share later). I asked for the instructions but she never got back to me.

This is the inside of the wallet. So I got my heating tool and started to take the wallet apart.

Your solid cardstock will measure 5 1/4x 8 3/4 and your DSP will measure 5 3/16 x 8 11/16. MATH STINKS! Even though I was a SUPER NERD (but a cute one) Math was never my FAV subject. By this point I am already 30 minutes in and GUESS WHAT?! Mr. Ticker died. He started going nuts...He was buzzing and ringing and then he would restart poor thing died a violent and disturbing END! Will have to buy one this weekend.

I corner punched one end of the Caramel Cardstock and one end of the Sweet Pea DSP. This is optional but I wanted to give the front softer corners.

I ran the Caramel Cardstock thru my Big Shot (A MUST HAVE) using the Elegant Boquet EF. I did this on opposite corners of the cardstock.

I then took my Taken with Teal ink pad and sponge daubed the embossing but wasn't too happy with it so I did the embossing darker and then I did the rest of the cardstock with the same color but just not as dark.
So now for the sides of your wallet. You will need 2 pieces of cardstock. Here I am using the same Caramel cardstock. They measure 2 x 3. Score both pieces every 1/2 inch. Okay so you can choose how to adhere your DSP with adhesive or you can sew it like I did. This is the first time I sewed cardstock together. So you know even though Mr. Ticker is laying in the trash quietly that I went OVER and BEYOND the time alotted for a 3D challenge.

Valley/Mountain fold the sides and adhere with Sticky Strip.
I added velcro to the inside for easy opening and closing and I added a build a brad using the same DSP I used for the inside of the wallet. Now if you notice mine isn't as shiny as the sample I showed you above. The sample above is clear embossed. I didn't clear emboss this one. I am going to play with different versions of this wallet and get back to you. Hasta Mañana.

RECIPE: ALL STAMPIN UP
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Sweet Pea DSP (Occassions MINI 2010)
Ink: Taken with Teal
Accessories: Big Shot, Build a Brad, Elegant Boquet EF, CropODile
